Every Sunday morning we provide a staffed nursery during the entire service for children and infants under 2 years. We ask that only parents/guardians drop-off and pick up their children. We also have Children’s Church (for 3-13 year olds) during the second half of the service. This time will include music, a lesson, crafts and games. Considering that the early church worshipped in large settings in the synagogues as well as in homes, we unite together similarly in order to be in deeper fellowship with God and one-another. God has reconciled us not only to Himself but also to each other. This "each other" is called His Church. Thus, we intentionally strive toward community through men's/women's groups, home gatherings, and other personal settings. We have been created to live in community and not in isolation. Physically, we do live in a community, but spiritually, socially, and relationally we often live our lives in isolation. We find ourselves with no one to turn to when we have a major issue that has just surfaced in our life. Living in community affords us the opportunity to more wholly experience God through close relationships as we play and pray together, as we encourage and help one another, and as we study and live out God’s word together. We believe the church is the family of God called to live on mission to advance His Kingdom. Because we are God's children through Jesus, we are to live as brothers and sisters. The church is not a building, place, or program, but God's people. Living in community with one another is essential to growing in the Gospel and becoming more like Christ. Showing up to a Sunday gathering is great, but it is our desire to see everyone involved in a Missional Community. A Missional Community is not a mid-week program, but a family of missionary servants who are making disciple-making disciples daily. We would love to see all of our Missional Communities hanging out throughout the week, eating meals together and serving their neighborhoods. It is not something you check off a list, but a way of doing life. Currently, we have seven Missional Communities and are multiplying continually. So LifeGate does not result from a church split; we result from a “church merger.” The three congregations involved were Lighthouse Community Church, New Name Christian Fellowship and Shenk’s Community Church LifeGate worship services are at 10:00 AM every Sunday morning. Other services and gatherings also take place throughout the week. The people at LifeGate come from a variety of backgrounds including Evangelical/Bible, Charismatic/Pentecostal, Mennonite/ Anabaptist, and Catholic, as well as people from no Christian background. As with all true Christians, we love Jesus and we love one another. We long to know Jesus more intimately and to follow Him more faithfully. We want to be Holy Spirit-empowered and faithful to the Holy Scriptures. We want to be a community of faith where we lovingly support one another as Christ frees us from our addictions, heals our diseases, reconciles our marriages, and leads us to fulfill His destiny for us to participate in the transformation of our communities. Through Spirit-directed worship and prayer, we encounter the presence of our Resurrected Lord. From this “presence-based” living, we discern God’s will for our lives individually and as a congregation. The congregation is structured into “Households of Faith” so that we can continually encourage one another in hearing God and faithfully obeying Him. A team of persons provides congregational and pastoral leadership at LifeGate. This team is composed of Don and Net Lamb, Don and Kathy Hess, Peter and Sharon Ogilvie, Craig and Emily Tomko, Doug and Faith Lamb, and Dan and Steph Slade. Vard and Eileen Gainor, David and Grace Candole, and many others, are strategic partners. These individuals exercise leadership gifts in the region under the spiritual covering of LifeGate. To provide a home congregation for people who are called to minister around the world to the body of Christ. To develop a healthy “inviting, nurturing and sending” congregation served by a team of leaders. We seek to minister with giftings in five areas: apostolic, prophetic, evangelistic, teaching and pastoral–all which are Spirit-directed, rather than agenda-driven, and have their relationships guided by what people are called to be and not by what they have been. To network with local pastors and congregations for the transformation of Elizabethtown and the Central PA region. To be a spiritual resource to Christians outside of LifeGate through writings and conferences and the development of models for ministry and evangelism. To be a training ground for persons to be released to start new congregations, house churches and marketplace ministries. To network with other congregations and ministries through New Testament Fellowship of Churches, our own 501 (c) 3 network, which is in turn associated with a fellowship of Christian networks of churches known as Kingdom Life Network of Churches (KLN). We value a “presence-based” life and ministry. Jesus provides more than a good example through His life and teachings. Jesus is present with us through the Holy Spirit who lives within each believer. The Holy Spirit of God guides us and empowers us in living out the teachings of Christ. Through this Spirit-mediated presence of Jesus we expect and experience ‘daily miracles.’ **The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the authority for our belief and practice**. We believe the Holy Spirit guides the faith community in understanding and applying the word of God. We believe that the Holy Spirit continues to speak to God’s people today but we believe that what He speaks never opposes the written word of God, the Bible. In matters of discernment, we give priority to the Bible over people’s opinions or intuitions. **Our primary allegiance is to God’s Kingdom and His reign**. We want to see His will done on earth just as it is in heaven. We are committed to follow Him no matter the cost. We would rather die than be unfaithful to His Word and will for us. **In baptism we testify to the powers of earth and heaven that we are united with Christ and His kingdom**. We announce our commitment to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and the Church and we renounce the world, the flesh, the devil and all powers not under Christ’s authority. We believe that the Holy Spirit comes upon us to enable us to live out our baptismal vows and commitments. **We value the church–the community of baptized believers in Jesus Christ–which is referred to as the ‘body of Christ’**. We love the Church because Christ loves the Church and died to save the Church. It is a miracle that God would take broken, sinful, hate-filled people, and baptize them with His love and forgiveness and then testify that the way the world will know that we are His disciples is by our love for one another. The church is a living miracle. The church lives with continual gratitude that we are ‘the holy people of God, a priesthood of believers,’ called to demonstrate God’s glory in the way we live in a community of faith, hope and love. We believe in mutual accountability and in seeking the well-being of one another in the body of believers. **God loves the world and calls us to join with Him in reconciling the world to Himself**. Through Jesus’ death on the cross, the Devil, the ‘Strong Man’ has been bound. All authority has been given to Jesus to possess the kingdom which the Devil had formerly ruled. Jesus commands us to move with confidence into the world and to ‘spoil the strong man’s house’. We are called to preach the good news that because of Jesus’ death on  the cross and His resurrection we no longer need to live under the despair and control of the Devil. We are now free to follow Jesus and the life of heaven. **We are a community of faith, prayer, worship and celebration of the goodness of God**. **We value the Christian home**. We are committed to applying the resources of heaven and earth to establish and maintain life-giving, nurturing and God-directed homes. We invite all to join us for this mid-week gathering We build LifeGroups that can disciple, strengthen families and reach out to the neighborhoods where they meet. LifeGroups meet in different locations throughout the Central Pennsylvanian region throughout each month. Our LifeGroups all endeavor to include the following dynamics: worship, listening to God, studying scripture, encouragement, accountability, friendship and reaching out. LifeGate’s Men’s Ministry provides opportunities for men to connect and grow in their faith. The purpose of this ministry is to foster intimacy with God and build lasting growing relationships with other men. We hold monthly men’s groups, as well as retreats and other meetings. Supporting and encouraging women is a priority that LifeGate wants to continue to develop. Women need the encouragement and network of friends that will give them the help they need in their day-to-day lives. This gathering occurs at LifeGate on the last Friday of each month, starting at 10:00 AM, as a ministry to individuals age 55+ with fellowship, faith and food. There are various times of prayer in the region and within LifeGate’s weekly journey. Don has helped lead LifeGate since the church's beginning, and together they are passionate about helping people encounter Jesus, grow in authentic community, and discover God's purpose for their lives. Don has served in church leadership for more than thirty years as a youth leader, elder, worship leader, and pastor. He enjoys teaching God's Word in a way that is both biblically faithful and relevant to everyday life, with a heart for keeping the Gospel central and encouraging believers to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. Net enjoys serving behind the scenes, using her gifts of administration, organization, and strategic planning to strengthen the ministries of LifeGate. She enjoys bringing clarity to complex situations, supporting leaders, and creating systems that help people connect, serve, and grow together. Recently retired from a career in change consulting and HR technology administration, she is grateful to invest more of her time and energy in the life of the church. Don and Net are the parents of two married children, Seth and Chelsea, and five grandchildren. They enjoy traveling internationally, kayaking, biking, and exploring in their micro camping van.  Their desire is that every person who comes to LifeGate experiences the hope of Christ, authentic community, and lives transformed by the Holy Spirit. Having met in high school and married four years later, they have served together in both business and ministry. They are the parents of five children and enjoy spending time with their fourteen grandchildren. Don serves in a variety of business and ministry leadership roles and has traveled to more than thirty countries, often leading teams to visit ministry partners and mission sites. He enjoys taking care of the farm, being an avid sports fan, reading biographies, writing when inspiration strikes, and planning mission trips. Kathy enjoys reading, puzzles, walking, biking, and meaningful one-on-one conversations. She has a special heart for encouraging strong marriages and healthy families. Together, Don and Kathy have experienced both great joy and deep loss, including the homegoing of their daughter Molly in 2018. Don later shared her story in his book, *Unrequested Blessing: The Molly Hess Story*, as a testimony to God's faithfulness and hope. Their desire is that every person who comes to LifeGate experiences the love of Christ, authentic community, and the hope found in walking with Him. They are passionate about seeing people grow in their faith and live courageously in response to God's leading. Craig has a heart for seeing men become strong, faithful followers of Jesus and for encouraging them to lead with courage and dependence on the Holy Spirit. His professional background is in business, and he brings that experience to his service and leadership within the church. Emily is an author whose writing grew out of her own journey of faith and desire to help others pursue a deeper relationship with God. She is the author often books, including *31 Thoughts on Prophecy* and *Leaving the Shallows: Igniting the Faith That Overcomes the World*. Emily enjoys vintage style and has a particular love for German culture, having spent a year living in Bremen and Nuremberg. Together, Craig and Emily value a church that leads with both grace and truth, prioritizes prayer, and encourages people to follow the Holy Spirit with courage and conviction. They serve together as the leaders of LifeGate’s youth ministry. They are an active, intentional, approachable, committed, and fun-loving family who value faith, relationships, and making the most of life together. Dan is a licensed professional counselor with a background in mental health counseling. His experience working with individuals and families gives him a unique perspective on relationships, personal growth, and walking alongside people through difficult seasons of life. Steph is a nursing professional with a local healthcare system and brings her own experience, compassion, and heart for caring for people to both her work and her service at LifeGate. Together, Dan and Steph desire to see young people become on fire for God, filled with the Holy Spirit, and confident in their own personal relationship with Him, while being discipled in Spirit and truth.
